Day 3.1

Cahuita, Costa Rica--Today we left our beautiful lodge in the mountains and headed for about 8 hours towards the more humid coast. Despite the long car ride, we all managed to have fun. Mimmy, Ruthie, Be'l, Marcy, and I sang for at least an hour of the way (Diddy and Jonas started requesting us to sing their favorite song, a.k.a. "silence").

We stopped for lunch along the way, but I'll let Jonas tell you all about that.

We finally arrived at a gorgeous resort by the Caribbean Sea. I'm sitting in kind of an enlarged gazebo structure with little tables, chairs, and a bar. We will be eating breakfast in it tomorrow, with the waves crashing in the background.

As we explored this afternoon, we found crabs nestling in the creek bed and a ginormous spider which was definitely NOT OKAY and I will not be sleeping tonight.

We all enjoyed an evening swim, and right now we're killing time before supper--we're eating at 8:00, which is going to feel like 10:00 to our bodies. Obviously, we're all starving, but Jonas isn't tasty enough to cannibalize, so we'll just have to wait it out.
