Day 18.1

Lincoln City, OR— Still on our way to an unknown state park, we started searching for a pizza place in the town. Pizza or Italian would do, we thought. We were at a red light when we saw: Papa Murphy’s. With a quick glance we decided to check it out. It was also located next to a liquor store. WE WERE STARVED! We went inside and discovered heaven! Breadsticks and cheesy bread and pizza galore! We all did a victory jig and ordered. We got to family-sized pizzas: One with pepperonis & garlic, the other with tomatoes, spinach, cheese, bacon, and white sauce. We also got a wheel (yes, a wheel) of cheesy bread and a wheel of cinnamon stuff with icing!! We were all so thrilled of our purchases. They said it would be ready in 4-6 minutes. What great service! So we all waited for a while and Jake, Dad, and Jonas went off to get some groceries while mom and I waited for the pizzas. The clerk called us over to give us our order. When we saw our pizza, we almost flipped. It wasn’t baked. The clerk asked if we’d ever made these pizzas before, and we said no. He told us what to preheat the oven to and how long to bake it all. Not even the cheesy bread was done! It was ALL uncooked. Only then did we realize their motto: Take and Bake Pizza! We were all STARVED. Did I say starved? Oh yes, we were READY to eat, NOW! It was around 6:30 and when we left the store mom started laughing hysterically as we walked past the liquor store. I went to tell the boys the news, and luckily we had a convection oven in our RV, thank you Cruise America! Jonas and Jake flipped out the most of all, saying how stupid an idea it was to make a pizza place that DIDN’T BAKE THEM!! Although when we made them they tasted better than ANY pizza we had ever eaten. So we were satisfied. That is the pizza story. The end.
