Day 2

Well, last night was interesting. It seemed every hotel in Nebraska was completely FULL, forcing us to drive an extra fifty miles just to find a place to stay. We stayed at a Holiday Inn with a pool, and after we went swimming for a bit we went to bed. Also, there happens to be a time difference in Nebraska--we were an hour behind Pennsylvania.

This morning we ate breakfast at Applebee's and I hit my head on the ceiling while jumping on the bed (I was slightly sleep-deprived). We finally arrived in Colorado today, which was a nice change because there were actual mountains and rolling hills instead of unnaturally flat land. We stopped at a rest stop to eat lunch, which Marcy enjoyed because it was Indian themed, with obviously fake metallic tepees covering picnic tables.

The pictures are of us at lunch and of Dad, Marcy, Joe, and me pretending to be tumbleweeds. :)

Jonas bought a weird, overly-priced pen yesterday that not only is a pen, but a laser pointer and a shocking joybuzzer thing as well. You can imagine the fun he's having shocking everybody (including himself several times before he knew how to use it).

Mom and Dad have not let me drive yet, but we have a whole week before we get the RV, so I will keep trying, never fear!

  1. Hah... I didn't realize Jake was writing this till near the end of the post. I thought it was a little early in the trip for Jeff to be regressing to bed jumping.

  2. What about that poor little girl in the first photo who is obviously very fearful of the adult man doing somersaults? I would also run the opposite direction.

  3. I take offense to the "flat land" comments.

  4. The poor little girl was in awe of my gymnastic ability. If you look closely, you can see her look of awe. - Jeff

  5. I think there is a look of confusion. Maybe because you are crazy, dad, or maybe because of your gymnastic abilities. We may never know.
